Lauren Barksdale-Hill

Lauren Barksdale Hill is born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. From a young age, she was immersed in the world of art, spending countless hours painting in her grandmother's studio, an experience that played a formative role in shaping her creative voice.

Lauren attended St. Joseph's Academy before earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design, along with a degree in Business, from Louisiana State University. This unique blend of artistic training and business insight has helped her navigate a successful career as a professional painter for over 20 years.

Her paintings seek to capture the spirit and soul of Louisiana's landscape as seen through her eyes. Known for her abstract-yet-vivid depictions of native scenery, Lauren's work celebrates the beauty of the South-from tranquil marshes and sugarcane fields to majestic oak trees and the rich biodiversity of her home. Each canvas is a love letter to the South, blending expressive brushwork with a deep emotional connection to place.
