Emily Wood: Creating Spaces That Tell a Story

Emily Wood discovered her love of design at an early age. Her grandmother taught her to sew when she was in first grade, introducing her to fabrics, texture, quality, and the power of color. Those early lessons sparked a lifelong love of creativity and an instinct for bringing different elements together to create beautiful spaces.

Born in Lake Charles and raised in Baton Rouge, Emily has deep roots in the local community. Her connections throughout the area have played an important role in building her design business, EWood Interiors, where she helps clients bring personality and life into their homes.

Emily's approach to design is centered around color, fabric, texture, and mixing old with new. She especially enjoys selecting wallpapers, fabrics, lighting, and décor that work together without looking identical. Her philosophy is that design elements should be “sisters, but not twins”—coordinated enough to tell a cohesive story while each piece maintains its own personality.

The Foyer has become an important part of Emily's journey, introducing her to new clients, customers, and connections. She especially enjoys hearing where her pieces ultimately find a home, whether it's a beautiful light fixture in a nursery or a statement lamp in a living room.

Emily recently moved her collection to the front of The Foyer, where she is surrounded by natural light, beautiful wallpaper, lighting, and popular candle lines. The new space reflects her love of layering color, texture, and unique pieces—and provides an inviting introduction to her design aesthetic.

For Emily, design is ultimately about more than choosing beautiful things. It's about helping people create happy, meaningful spaces that feel like home.

Visit The Foyer at 3655 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, Monday through Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday 12 to 5 PM to see more of Emily's interior designs.
